Teens

This page is dedicated to parents of teenagers who are struggling to help their children navigate the often confusing, unpredictable and turbulent waters of adolescence. Sometimes teenagers want to talk with a counselor, sometimes by themselves and other times with the family. It’s not uncommon for a teen to say that they don’t want anything to do with a counselor, which would also be “weird”, “dumb”, “stupid” and “pointless.” Even if your teen refuses to come in at first, therapy can still be helpful. There are options, even if your child or teen won’t participate.
